Let a local guide you
If you are a visitor to Newcastle, this is a great way to see all the best places in just half a day!
Be tourist in your own town
Showcase YOUR Newcastle to family and friends and we’ll let you be the guide!
No matter if you are a visitor or a born and bred Novocastrian, you’ll be amazed at how much of the city and beaches you will experience on these 3 hour guided E-bike tours. With a local guide, you’ll be shown how to use the E-bikes and be lead on a fun and relaxed ride around Newcastle’s ‘Golden Triangle’.
IF YOU CAN RIDE A BIKE, YOU CAN RIDE A BYKKO!
Our tour bikes are ‘power-assisted pedal cycles’ with a maximum power output 250 watts and can go no faster than regular bicycles. But the beauty of these E-bikes is when the pedals are in motion a small electric motor assists with turning the wheel so going uphill is a dream. These bikes have a maximum speed of 25kms and the power will cut out when maximum speed is reached, the rider stops pedaling or a brake is engaged.
So, if you can ride a bike, then you can ride a BYKKO, in fact, these are a LOT easier and we will make sure everyone is comfortable before we cruise.
Feel free to contact us for custom tours and dates for groups of 4 or more.
BYKKO beach tour
Starting at Merewether Beach (voted #1 City beach in Australia) or The Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club, we pick up our E-bikes and cruise along spectacular waterways and beaches, exploring the ‘Golden Triangle’ of the Hunter Coast.
Stopping along the break wall or visiting Nobbys Lighthouse (Sundays only), you’ll get up close to the coal & cruise ships as they navigate the harbour. If you're lucky you might spot a whale, our resident pod of dolphins or one of our many local professional surfers ripping up the waves!
Our mid-ride pit-stop will be at one of the many world class cafes or food stalls where you can grab a feed, coffee or gelato; or bring a towel if it’s hot and take a dip in the ocean baths or between the flags at our famous beaches along the way.
As we follow the coast we will explore the old King Edward Park, checkout the Bogey Hole and effortlessly ride up to the Strzelecki lookout to Anzac Bridge for a 360 degree view of Newcastle.
